Grants center told 'no' to renew contract
The New Mexico Health and Environment Department told The Resource Center in a Monday fax that its contract to serve the developmentally disabled in Cibola County will not be renewed. A three month continuation may be possible ending March 31, 1991, if standards for mental health and substance abuse are met. Board member Ron Armstrong said a review meeting with state officials and public attendees including Sen. Joe Fidel is planned. The memo cites long standing problems including staffing shortages and lack of individual client plans, concluding the center cannot meet minimum DD standards and an alternative agency will be sought.

Public meet on proposed 230 kilovolt line from Ambrosia to Coronado
