A former county employee filed a federal sexual harassment lawsuit in Albuquerque alleging that County Commission Chairman Earnest Becenti engaged in kissing, fondling her, and other acts of assault and false imprisonment starting in 1992. The complaint names Irvin Harrison Don Jordan Pat Holloway Ben Shelly Sharon Richards and others. The plaintiff, a receptionist since February 1992, says harassing conduct began in May 1992 and ceased briefly after management intervened in 1993. The suit cites Title VII and seeks action for the alleged abuse.

Former Oregon deputy captured at Giant Travel Center
Michael Joseph Kennaday a 51 year old former Douglas County Oregon deputy fled child sex abuse charges and was captured in Gallup New Mexico by McKinley County Sheriff and New Mexico State Police. A search of his motor home at Giant Travel Center east of Gallup revealed 15 firearms. Kennaday faces multiple charges in Linn County Oregon and waived extradition to return for prosecution. He remains in custody in McKinley County until Oregon authorities arrange transfer.
