Lost dog Milton reunited with owner at casino parking lot

Milton the Vizsla belonging to Amanda Vargo of Washington was found four days after fleeing a crash on Interstate 40 east of Grants. The dog, injured with cactus quills, was treated in Albuquerque and returned to Vargo in a joyous reunion with rescue aid from Keri Pink and local agencies.

Seventh DWI arrest for Gallup man on Historic Highway 66

School district to examine athletic GPA requirements

Gallup McKinley County School District athletic director Gary Schuster formed a committee of school athletic directors in October to study raising athletic GPA standards. The district currently follows the New Mexico Activities Association 2.0 average, but Crownpoint High requires 2.5 and Miyamura High 2.25. The panel weighs if a gifted athlete at a C average would suffer with a higher bar.
