Oil plant plan sparks Lupton residents protest
In Lupton Arizona residents gathered Sunday night to oppose a proposed crude oil processing plant by Krystal Energy Company a joint venture of Gilbert Thomas owner of All-Star Trading and Bruce Nicholson manager of the Speedy Truck Stop. The site 18 miles west of Gallup near U S 40 would add a railroad siding but concerns about water and land pollution were raised by Kee Joe Benally Sr who lives nearby.
