Shiprock plans its Christmas parade for December 15 at 10 a.m. with a theme of Christmas Wonderland. Entries close December 13 at noon, with no entry fee, and line up at 8 a.m. at the 7 To 11 store. Representatives from state engineers, environmental, highway, and local soil and water districts will attend. The revision raises fees, adds summary procedure for simple plats, allows variances, and includes mobile home provisions. Decisions must be made within 30 days after the hearing.

School Blames PHS For Death At Gallup
A special school for 70 handicapped students claims the U S Public Health Service caused the death of Arnold Werito, a 22 year old deaf mute, after treatment at Gallup Indian Health Center. His mother Helen Edward filed a $70,000 lawsuit in October alleging neglect and lack of proper medical care and fluids. The school argues PHS doctors treated Werito and the death occurred after his arrival at PHS.
