WINDOW ROCK Ariz The Navajo Tribal Council resumed its fall session and confirmed Leo C Watchman as treasurer of the Navajo tribe. Watchman is also the Democratic state representative for District 1 of McKinley County to the New Mexico legislature. He was elected on November 5 defeating Republican incumbent Jake Chee. The council also resumed consideration of the 1968 fiscal year audit reports regarding the operator of heavy equipment and building and design departments.

John Minerich 78 Dies in Farmington
Long time Gallup resident John Minerich 78 died Monday at San Juan Hospital Farmington. Services set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Rollie Mortuary with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Born June 23 1890 in Yugoslavia he lived in Gallup many years before moving to Farmington five years ago. He was a retired coal miner and member of SNPJ Lodge and FU. Survived by son John Minerich and daughter Mrs John Matajcich of Gallup another daughter Mrs Harley Smith Flora Vista nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In Albuquerque on June 5 1967 the defense for Lopez Tijerina starts aiming to show he did not control gunmen who stormed the Rio Arriba County Courthouse. The state rested Tuesday after 13 witnesses.
