Former Navajo Tribal Chairman Peter MacDonald was moved from a Pennsylvania prison to a Fort Worth federal medical facility after months of planning. His wife Wanda said the transfer targets an available bed for his arthritis and other conditions, while he serves a 14-year bribery and corruption sentence.

Hopi approve 1996 budget in tribal council vote
The Hopi Tribal Council adopted a 1996 budget of 15.5 million dollars, adding 50 000 per village 15000 for Elderly Committee and 20000 for each of five standing committees. The total reaches 15 538 307 with about 1.4 million in contingency funds. Projected revenue is about 17 million.
