mediator Would Start Coalition Tribe Talks

A federal Justice Department mediator met Navajo tribal officials in Window Rock to explore a possible role in negotiations between the Dine Bi Coalition and the administration. The coalition, from Shiprock and other areas, has staged demonstrations resulting in 28 arrests in three weeks.

Federal Campaign Is Over Top By $6,000

The Combined Federal Campaign in Gallup reports a successful drive raising 20,776.25 from 2,309 county federal employees, with 28 percent contributing. Crownpoint Sewer Water Plan Endorsed With Reservations

The Crownpoint sewer and water plan priced at about 3 million received a qualified endorsement from Sverdrup & Parcel as they draft an Environmental Impact Statement.
