Gallup New Mexico Department of Motor Vehicles field office will close December 8 and 9 for in-service training as part of the fourth annual Santa Fe seminar. To minimize public disruption, extended hours will be offered the week before, with 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. hours the rest of this week and Monday through Wednesday of next week, plus all-day Saturday. The in-service courses began in 1964 and have continued annually to train staff in advanced methods for better service to New Mexico motorists.

FORT DEF IANCE Arizona Win dow Rock High School teacher Leonard Talburt was reinstated to the faculty after a special meeting of the Windows Rock School District No 8 board. Superintendent George Burns said Talburt had been suspended at the November 22 meeting and withheld causes at that time.
Services for George C. Lebeck a former Gallup resident who died Thanksgiving Day in Los Angeles were held Monday on what would have been his 78th birthday. He and brother Albert once ran a Ramah trading post and he later owned Swinford's Clothing in Gallup before moving to California to run trucking operations from Los Angeles to Albuquerque and Denver. He is survived by wife Clara of Pasadena and brother O. Lebeck Sr. of Albuquerque.
A consumer credit course will be held in Gallup January 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. The International Consumer Credit Association announces the class taught by Sterling S. Speake of the St. Louis Credit Association. Topics include credit conditions, taking credit applications, interviewing and investigating, with a $10 course fee covering a manual and supplies. Washington report says New Mexico will receive 9,305,032 this fiscal year under Title I of the ESEA. The delegation announced funds earmark over 9 million for low income, handicapped, and foster children. Additional amounts: 30,397 for neglected children and juvenile delinquents, 92,808 for migratory children, 92,129 for administration.
