McKinley General administrator resigns after merger stance

Gigi Darricades, administrator of McKinley General Hospital, announced at a board meeting Thursday night her resignation from the post. Directors were asked not to comment until she speaks with hospital staff. She joined McKinley General three years ago during its Presbyterian Hospitals takeover and supported a merger with Rehboth Christian Hospital, now in early development.

Navajo Tribal Council approves raises for leaders

Navajo Chairman Peter MacDonald will earn 55000 per year, up from 45000, while Vice Chairman Frank E Paul will receive 45000. The raises are part of a 46 million dollar fiscal year budget. The council also approved 994282 for the judicial branch and 11811200 for the education budget, with earmarked 30000 for Ramah Canoncito Alamo. The council adjourned to reconvene Tuesday to continue budget deliberations.
