Four Grants teens die in Seboyeta crash near Aug.6

Grants residents mourn four young men connected to Grants High School who died when a 1985 Ford Bronco crashed after a dust burst on State Road 279 near Seboyeta. Kyle Irwin and Fernando Rodarte are named among the deceased. Eloy Sandoval faced family tension at Fernando Rodarte’s funeral as investigators probe whether alcohol played a role. Andrew Kiefer survived surgery for a brain bleed and liver hole and remains in intensive care after a second operation, with a prior blood clot and coma-like condition reported. Memorials are directed to Mothers Against Drunk Driving. The crash investigation continues to determine driver and vehicle ownership amid initial errors in council reports.
