Ganado Pupils Get Apple Mac Laptops For Schooluse
Ganado Unified School District announced a one to one Mac laptop program for seventh through twelfth graders starting soon. The district will supply 1,340 laptops for middle and high school pupils at about 800 each, with teacher laptops valued at 1,100 after discounts.

Tonalea man gets 24 years for Kaibeto murder
A 20 year old Tonalea man, Alvin Franke Bennett, was sentenced to 24 years in a Phoenix federal prison after pleading guilty to second degree murder in the 2004 Kaibeto fire that killed Kee Yazzie Tso. Bennett and co defendant Jason Bigman were seeking guns, assaulted Tso, and set a storage shed ablaze.

Death at Durango-Mckinley mill under investigation
A 55 year old Bluewater man Gerald Burks died from head injuries after a maintenance fall from a 17 foot high platform at Durango McKinley Paper Company in Prewitt around 8 15 am June 27. The New Mexico Environment Occupational and Health Safety Bureau says the case remains ongoing with no new information released. Burks and his family relocated to Bluewater in 1993 from Aurora Illinois where he was born and raised.
