Swap Meet 66 draws world attention along old Route 66

Thomas LaMance operates Swap Meet 66 west of Milan offering a vast inventory from a 1815 Philadelphia Gazette to a 1926 Fordson ad. His guest book includes signatures from Europe and the Far East while a Japanese film company used his backdrop for still shots. LaMance, once an auctioneer and Alcatraz guard, now runs the indoor swap meet and writes for magazines.

Truck Driver Dies After Roll Over On New Mexico 124

Nicholas Luna, 25, of WWC Inc., died after a semi and trailer rolled on New Mexico 124 near a dirt shoulder. Police say he veered off, overcorrected, crossed lanes, and was ejected. He was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in Albuquerque and died there.

Jury indicts armed inmate in Grants case

A Cibola County grand jury indicted Carl Segura also known as Joe Garcia at Western New Mexico Correctional Facility in Grants for possession of a deadly weapon by a prisoner a second degree felony after officers found a homemade shank on May 11. Davis Lizer indicted for fatal shooting of brother in New Mexico

A federal grand jury in Albuquerque charged Davis Chee Lizer, 42, with voluntary manslaughter and discharging a firearm during a violent crime in the death of his 52-year-old brother Paul Chee Lizer at their hogan near Tse Bonito July 8. Lizer, of Coal Mine between Tse Bonito and Fort Defiance, faces trial in U.S. District Court.
