Grants The hospital board replaced Dennis Turney as administrator of Cibola General Hospital. Turney, who had been comptroller and then administrator for three years, oversaw a 1.2 million remodeling and led fundraisers for equipment. Polly Pine will oversee operations while a replacement is sought. Turney will stay two more weeks as interviews continue.
Los Angeles AP report says Superior Court Judge Stanley Weisberg dismissed all child molestation charges against Raymond Buckey in the McMartin Pre-School sex case after jurors deadlocked in a retrial on eight counts. Deputy DA Joseph Martinez declined further comment as he noted the community had had enough and the case was terminated.
In a June report Dr. Matthew K. The panel urged public hearings and surveys to decide a memorial honoring regional diversity. Dominic Arquero and Bernie Teba of Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Council spoke at the hearing on July 9.
