Infant Marlin G Warner dies after three days illness

Nine month old Marlin G Warner, son of Farry G and Mry Elizabeth Warner, died at home near Farmersville after a short illness. Survived by siblings Eril Florence Pauline Harry and twin Clarence, all at home. Services held Thursday afternoon at the home and Weaverland Mennonite Church with interment in adjoining cemetery.

Rev Amos Diller Geist Dies at 69 in Roxboro Philadelphia

The Rev Amos Diller Geist aged 69 died at his Roxboro Philadelphia home from a February stroke. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at the Ridge Avenue M E Church Roxboro with a brief service at 2 00 p m in the New Hollang M E Church. Interment in the Lutheran Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the services.

The September meeting of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union was hosted by Mrs. E C Diller. Devotionals led by Mrs. Annie Boyer followed by a memorial for Amanda Landes. The Lancaster County Union report covered the St Pauls Church Lititz convention with memorials and officer elections.

New Holland Farmer Day Exhibit Spaces Selling Fast

Rapid demand for display spaces in the Third Annual Farmer's Day Exhibition to be held here October 10 to 12. The Harner Theatre Auditorium and High School Auditorium plus open-air spaces along North and South Roberts Avenue and East Franklin Street are filling quickly. Lions Club Sees Membership Hit Fifty At New Holland

The Lions Club of New Holland held a semi monthly meeting at the American Legion Home with forty members. Two new members were accepted reaching a quota of fifty for the first time in over four years. Members filled cards with proposed club projects and new committees were named while Boys Band and Attendance Committees reported well. Entertainment features closed the evening and the next meeting is set for October 8 at the Legion Home.

Neighbors Harvest Hess Potatoes During Illness

Twenty seven neighbors and friends from West Main Street gathered at Aaron Hess’s home to harvest his two acre potato crop. Hess, recently incapacitated by blood poisoning, would have faced trouble gathering the crop without this help. The entire field was cleared in two and a half hours. Hess thanks all who helped.

Princess Rahme to Speak in New England Church Series

Princess Rahme a Palestinian author dramatist and lecturer will present two Palestinian evenings at the United Brethren church in New England. She will recount life and customs of the Holy Land in lectures and a chautauqua recital then show her Palestine films Gems of the East followed by Ruth and Naomi. Her secretary Miss Lucille Burgess will interpret the music.

Endurance Kite Flying Contest Draws Many Young Entrants

Some 30 to 40 boys from New Holland and nearby areas have registered for the endurance kite contest set for Saturday morning at Storb Field, sponsored by Jno. H. Sensenig. Rules require all kites aloft by 9:00 am. eligibility limits to ages 16 and under.

Baby Clinic Registers Three New Attendees At Lutheran Church

At a Well Baby Clinic session in the Lutheran Church Sunday School rooms, three babies were registered: Robert John Collins 11 months, Benjamin Franklin Wade 4, and David Dickinson Wade 3. Thirteen babies and nine mothers attended. Miss Anna Houck supervised. The next clinic will be at the Lutheran Church Thursday afternoon October 3, 2 to 4 o clock.

New Holland Alumni Plans Spelling Bee Fundraiser

At a recent New Holland Alumni Association meeting the group scheduled a spelling bee for Thursday evening October 24 to raise funds for the organization. Two spelling classes and a rapid calculation class will be offered with prize awards. A program of music sketches and other performances will accompany the event. Members are finalizing arrangements and will report at the next meeting on Wednesday October 16.
