Neighbors Aid Fire-Stricken Farmers In Weaverland Valley
About three hundred neighbors and friends of John W. Martin helped after his barn implements and crops were destroyed by fire on Wednesday evening. They cleared debris, hauled ashes to the field, and scrap sold to a junk dealer. A two story chicken house 24 by 64 feet began replacing the destroyed barn. Nearby James H. Martin was injured two weeks earlier and his seven acre corn crop was cut by neighbors on Tuesday. The group included Milton Horst, Daniel Le Sensenig, Spencer Musser and many Martins from Fetterville and New Holland area. Lunch was provided by local women.

Bus Crash Cuts Electric Line Near Graffdale
A foggy Monday crash at the east end of Graffdale involved a Conestoga Transportation bus en route to Lancaster that hit an electric pole to miss a two horse whey wagon. Bus operator James Houck 43 of Leola sustained a cut and scratches while passenger William J B Kochel Elsie Keener and Peter Townsley were jolted forward. the wagon driver Enos Nolt of Mascot and his passengers suffered minor injuries. The pole broke and fell on the bus hood, cutting power to the area for about an hour.
