Mr and Mrs Guy Wallace of Lancaster visited at the home of their parents Mr and Mrs Benjamin Getz. Mr and Mrs Harnish of Lancaster were guests at the home of the latter's parents Mr and Mrs Benjamin Mowery near town Sunday.
Harner's Theatre in New Holland resumes operations on Saturday October 4 after weeks of renovations. The venue now features new seating floor coverings draperies and a Payson Vita Phone sound system with two top line projecting machines and amplifiers. It will run nightly during Farmers Day week October 6 to 11 with three program changes and admission at 20 and 40 cents.
George Tillbrook proprietor of the New Holland Fruit and Vegetable market buys the Blambling property two miles south of the borough along the state road. He plans remodeling to occupy the farm and supply his trade from its yield.

The Thirteenth District Leadership Training School opens for the fall term next Monday September 29 at 7 30 p m. Most former members return with several new scholars. Sessions cover Junior Adolescent and Adult Materials and Methods and Administration in three St Stephen Reformed Church Sunday School rooms. Ten weekly sessions run Mondays through December first.
St Stephen Reformed Church will skip preaching next Sunday to join Zeltenreich Church for the anniversary service Sunday evening. The two choirs will unite, and a hymn ballot selects ten hymns from thirty-two for the October 12 Song Service. Over fifty ballots returned. leaders include Sweet Hour of Prayer Shall We Gather at the River Abide With Me and Let the Lower Lights be Burning. Ballot leaders are posted at the church entrance bulletin board.
Miss Helen M Mentzer announces the 1930 31 piano and organ teaching program continuing under Dr Harry A Sykes of Lancaster with his advanced method. Appointments at 100 Brimmer Avenue.
New Holland gears up for Farmers Day October 9 10 and 11 with fruit vegetable and farm product displays. Officials report rising exhibitor interest and expanded commercial space despite prior drought concerns. A record crowd is anticipated as territory for exhibits broadens and more township participants join. The committee will publish full entry details next week.
The New Holland Post of the American Legion hosted a farewell party and smoker for Rev. R. L. Winters who leaves to pursue studies in New England. District Commander Robert Waddell and County Secretary Herbert Gansman attended along with post members. Winters received an American Legion Lapel Button, and the group listened to the National Broadcast while enjoying lunch.
W B Relfsnyder of 427 West Main street announces a new meat market at his home to open Friday October 3. He will offer a full line of fresh and smoked meats with four deliveries weekly on Monday Wednesday Friday mornings and Saturday afternoon. He will attend the Lancaster Market two afternoons weekly to specialize in county dressed meats.
The Men’s Bible Class of St Stephen Reformed Sunday School met Wednesday evening in the Farmers National Bank basement. Reports covered a church entrance sign and driveway macadamizing. Plans were made for stronger enrollment and attendance. President Robert Yoder led, with W W Stauffer as class teacher.
New Holland Lions Club met at the American Legion Home for a semi monthly session. President Cauller urged greater fellowship among county clubs and appointed committees for upcoming projects. George Shea of Quarryville spoke on service and leadership, urging optimistic community service. Shea is pastor of Octararo Presbyterian Church.
Rev. R. L. Winters delivers farewell sermons to a large morning and evening audience. He and Mrs. Winters depart for Hartford Connecticut to attend Hartford Theological Seminary. He plans graduate study in American Church History while she pursues religious education work.

E N Burkholder announces the reopening of his butcher shop near Earl Union School House on Friday October 3 offering fresh and smoked meats for fall and winter. Prices will be slightly reduced as cattle costs are lower, and he resumes custom of butchering for trade inviting patronage.
On all school taxes for 1930 not paid before October 1, 1930 a penalty of five per cent will be added. Taxes will be received at the New Holland House at any time. P. H. Shaub, Collector.
The United Brethren Sunday School outlines its Annual Fall Rally Day for Sunday October 5 with a 9:00 AM morning service target of 350 attendees. Rev. R R Butterwick of Lebanon Valley College will speak. Harmony Jubilee Male Quartet from Lancaster provides music. evening program at 7:30 PM features Rev F C Aungst and Harmony Jubilee Singers directed by A L Polite. An offering will help cover expenses.
Elias Groff eighty five year old resident of West Main Street in this borough sustained a fracture of his right leg in a fall at his home Tuesday morning. Groff has served as Justice of the Peace for many years and was a longtime president of the New Holland Borough Council.
The engagement of Nat Rubin, son of Mr. and Mrs. S Rubinson of this borough, to Miss Rose P Satinsky of Philadelphia is announced. Rose Satinsky is a niece of Mr. and Mrs. M Satinsky, connected with Frankfort Worsted Mills. Rose attends the University of Pennsylvania. Nat Rubinson, a local graduate and former Penn student, now manages the Robinson Store in this building.

A large gathering of 150 funeral directors and spouses from Lancaster Chester and surrounding counties assembled at Henninger Corner on Main Street and Brimmer Avenue for a joint meeting. The event featured a pork and kraut banquet served by American Legion Auxiliary staff, speeches, poems and songs, with Rev C G Bachman as announcer and H S Griffith delivering a notable address.
Zeltenreich Reformed Church hosts special services next Sunday to honor Cyrus Sheaffer and Harry Diller who completed forty years of service as deacon and elder. They were ordained September 27, 1890 and have served continuously. Theodore F. Herman will preach at 10:15 and 7:30 with a union choir and special music. Everyone is invited.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Goodville Fire Company will host a Chicken Corn Soup Supper on Wednesday evening October 8 at the Goodville Fire Hall. Supper runs from 5 to 10 pm with a 35 cent price. Everyone invited.

Audrey Marie Martin infant daughter of Leroy and Miriam Martin died Monday morning at her parents home in this borough of infant trouble. She is survived by her grandparents William Retten of Ephrata and Amos Martin of this borough. Private services were held Monday afternoon with burial in Cedar Hill cemetery.
Martin R Sheaffer a longtime Bareville resident died at his home Friday evening after a six week illness aged 87. He is survived by his wife Lottie Myer and children Martin G Lancaster Clayton R Drexel Hill Caroline Rebekan Leah and 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was a Brethren church member. Funeral was held at his home Monday afternoon with interment in Groffdale cemetery.
David S. High died suddenly at home near Bard's Crossing Sunday morning at age 70 from a cerebral hemorrhage. Survived by wife Fannie nee Sen senig and children Amos Christian Samuel David Mrs John Weaver Reidenbach John Fivepointville, plus 36 grandchildren and siblings Benjamin Rothsville Christian Terre Hill John Hettie Maria. Funeral from his home Wednesday at 1 30 PM with public service at 2 PM at Graffdale Mennonite Church. interment in adjoining cemetery.
Dr George W Kinard of Leacock died Friday morning in General hospital Lancaster from a complication of diseases. A native of York County, he graduated from Millersville S N S and Jefferson Medical College Philadelphia and began practicing medicine at Leacock in 1887. He is survived by his
