Fatal Apple Tree Fall Claims Leacock farmer
Leacock farmer dies after a fall from an apple tree. He reportedly struck the ground on a bag of apples, suffering severe spinal injuries, multiple fractures, and head trauma. His wife witnessed the fall. he died Wednesday evening at 8 with no chance of recovery. Surviving family includes wife and several siblings and in laws.

Samuel B. Showers of Ephrata was found dead in a room at the Eagle hotel Reading with illuminating gas on and a cracked window. He had been in Ephrata Monday and traveled to Reading Tuesday evening. He had a history of melancholy and earlier survived a similar incident in Reading. Showers once managed the Ephrata baseball team and was a well known Lancaster County figure.

Chester Hershouer aged 26 was found dead in his third floor room at 26 North Shippen Street. Authorities suspect gas fumes from an open jet caused his death, with a second valve wide open and an exploded window suggesting possible self harm. A letter to a financier hinted at a planned meeting with a young woman on Saturday night. Hershouer previously lived in Little Britain with his parents Mr and Mrs Abram Hershouer.
