Vertigo Attack At St Stephen Church Prominent Citizen Recovered

During services at St Stephen Reformed Church a prominent citizen Michael R Wood suffered a vertigo attack and collapsed in a pew. Bystanders helped and a physician treated him. He was moved to the parsonage then to his home with his son M Darius and friends assisting. By week’s end he was able to be about and improving.

Miss Elva G. Bair a Terre Hill teacher turned twenty-three on Thursday. Principal Prof. Tanger led pupils to place twenty seven cards on her desk and thirty three more at the post office. About thirty five people gathered at her home for music and luncheon.

Fire narrowly averted at Beiler’s creamery in Stumptown

Beiler’s creamery in Stumptown woke to smoke at 7 am on Thursday when Justin Time was discovered. Mr Beiler received milk as Mr and Mrs P Morris Baby passed by Intercourse and noticed smoke from the engine house roof. Charred shingles were found but no blaze. Buckets of water helped quell the alarm, with coal shortage blamed for burning wood in the engine. Sparks may have ignited the shingle roof.
