The Rev Roy L Winters pastor of Trinity Lutheran church will close his pastorate this Sunday evening September 21 as he and his wife prepare to depart for Hartford Conn to enter the Hartford Theological Seminary for two years of study Dr Winters will pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Church History and Mrs Winters will study for a Master of Religious Education He is an alumnus of Denver High School Millersville State Normal School Franklin and Marshall College University of Pennsylvania Mt Airy Seminary and served in WWI with the 316th Infantry of the 79th Division He previously led St James Lutheran in Lebanon Pa Mrs Winters is daughter of Mr and Mrs W L Stober of Denver and a Penn graduate in education She serves as president of the Woman's Auxiliary Societies and Light Brigades of the Lancaster Conference The Winters have many friends in town who wish them success

Local mortician to entertain funeral directors Tuesday
James C. Henninger, funeral director and furniture dealer, plans a meeting and banquet for more than 125 Funeral Directors' Association members from Lancaster, Chester, Berks and Dauphin Counties. The event, the second of its kind in the borough, will be at Henninger Furniture on East Main Street next Tuesday at noon with a program of entertainment and a banquet served by the Ladies Auxiliary of Conestoga Post No 662, American Legion.

Local Girl Victim of School Bicycle Accident
Little Miss Elizabeth Hope nine year old daughter of Mr and Mrs J F Hope of East Main street was injured at the local schools when a bicycle ridden by an older pupil struck her. A physician treated a fracture of her right leg. the fracture was reduced and she is reported to be progressing as well as can be expected.

Death of Ellwood Ludwick Prominent Honey Brook Citizen
Ellwood Ludwick a 62 year old Honey Brook resident died Saturday afternoon due to heart trouble. Former Honey Brook burgess and Woodrow Wilson era postmaster, he was a Democrat, vice president of the Chester County Automobile Club, a Mason and longtime hardware trader who later ran an insurance business with a son. Survived by sister Mrs John P Lemmon and three sons William Thomas and Dr Nathan V Ludwick. Services were held Tuesday at his Honey Brook home with interment in St Marks Cemetery Church Hill.

A bolt of lightning during a severe storm struck the barn and garage of R. E. Good on East Main Street, burning the structures and a Chevrolet coupe and damaged the house, radio, fuses, and windows. James Irons and Amos Zack alerted firemen from Liberty Fire Company who saved parts of the property. Loss exceeds two thousand dollars with partial insurance.
