H. K. Weaver of This Borough will lead the Golden Eagles annual session. Details remain sparse in the readable text but indicate an organized gathering with Weaver presiding.
The thirty third annual meeting will be held Saturday September 19 at Malta Hall Lititz East Main street 72. The session opens at 11 am with Grand Lodge officers and many delegates expected. Harry K Weaver of New Holland presides with officers Maud Heller John B Grabill Jennie Warfel Anna Bartholomew Carrie Smith George Will Flora Ferguson Preston Parker Julia E Ward. Barry K Weaver and R N Bowers will attend as official delegates. Members urged to attend.
Mr and Mrs Marvin Weaver hosted a lawn picnic at their Lancaster R D home on Sunday to honor Mrs R H Brubaker and Dorothy L Brown for dual birthdays. Guests included Mr and Mrs Guy Stone Dorothy Ruth Stone Paul Stone Charles Brown Mr and Mrs R H Brubaken and daughters Jean Elizabeth and Ann Helen.
To observe Rally Day the Terre Hill group of the Mennonite Brethren in Christ Sunday School will host services on Sunday September 20. Prof Robert R. Fritsch of Muhlenberg College will deliver the address in the afternoon and evening session.
A reunion of former Hinkletown public school pupils and teachers gathered in Earl Township last Saturday afternoon. About 100 attendees included R N Bowers as master of ceremonies and speakers such as Miss Sallie Stedman, Miss Minnie Harmmond, Mrs. Sadie Warner, and Director David Weaver. An annual organization was formed to sustain the event with many local and area attendees listed.
Miss Elizabeth Styer daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Styer of Elverson and Rev Ralph K Todd of Gratz Pa were married at noon last Wednesday in Harrisburg by Rev C D Huber. Miss Miriam K Todd of Honey Brook played the match. They plan to reside in Gratz after a short wedding trip.
Mrs. Noah A. Trimmer died yesterday at 8 30 from a stroke. She is survived by her husband and three children Maurice Elizabeth wife of H A Raffensperger and Fred one sister Mrs William McGinnis who lived with the family. Funeral services will be held at the Kissel Hill home at 130 pm Sunday Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery York.
Executors of Barbara Martin estate sold a double dwelling at public auction on Saturday to Ralph Arment of Blue Ball for 4700. Auctioneer B W Witmer handled the sale. Administrators of the estate of Wi by Diem of Mite Airy sold another dwelling on Saturday to Victor Simmons, present tenant, for 700.

A Mountain sweet watermelon owned by restaurateur George Geigley proves unusually large, leading to a dangerous extraction from his pocket. A town report recalls an old notice claiming the world’s modest girl resided in Leacock township. Minor incidents include a near-munition incident on a porch, a chase, and a miss by a gun on a fence. Joseph Brimmer of Lancaster dies at 78. Emma F Slaw of Wilmington dies at 28, daughter of John Sna der, formerly of New Holland.
Harry A Zell and Rob er Taylor, both residents of Reidénbachs, resumed their studies at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster. Baréel Sasanacht from near Farmiersville was tendered a genuine ae cael in the school new of the.
Miss Daisy E. B. Grubb, a well known Lancaster woman, died Thursday at her Lancaster City home of a heart attack after one day of illness. She was the daughter of the late Clem ent B. Grubb and Maria Brooke Grubb, both connected with ironmasters. She died in the house where she was born and was a member of the D A R.
Mrs Levenia Weiler widow of George Weiler aged 93 died at 1:15 Monday at 215 North Mulberry Lancaster after a yearlong illness. Survived by daughters Anna Palm Beach Fla Ruth Elizabeth at home. Services held Wednesday 10:30 at home and 10:30 at St Stephen Reformed Church. Interment in adjoining cemetery. She was long active in St Stephen Reformed and Sunday School since 1853.
Auction at the Wirtz Home estate near White Horse featured high bids on numerous items. A grandfather clock sold for 137 dollars. a Stoddard piece 49, a dark blue sandwich glass 11.50, a Dutch cupboard 21, a sandwich glass covered dish 1250, five Stiegel twine glasses 9.25 each, a poster bed 21, a pitcher 35, a wash basin with pitcher 21, and a cherry tilt-top table 17.
A group from Blue Ball and Bareville, including Hen Rutter Er Weaver Richard Dommell Chet Tshudy and Walt Swart, took a day off for a Lewes Delaware fishing trip. Their boat grounded on a sand bar and capsized as the crew leaned to one side, dumping tackle bait and lunch into the water.

The Constant Workers Class of Trinity Lutheran Sunday School met Tuesday at Mrs Miles Martins home. Hostesses Mrs Martin and Mrs Walter Slate served refreshments. Members present included Mrs Martin Kurtz Mrs Ira Esbenshade Mrs William Kochel and others from town and Lancaster. The group voted to hold the next meeting as a Halloween party in the Parish House.
Mrs Mary Weaver of Honey Brook will reside with her son Charley Weaver for the winter. Anna Asner has built a garage and chicken house on the old barn site, with William Hurst as contractor. Alvin Weaver and Harry Lichty are each finishing new houses. Cedar Grove school opened with forty nine pupils including eight beginners taught by Miss Elya Gutekunst of Ephrata.
The A. W. Martin Estate was sold at public auction to LeRoy Hess of Lancaster R5. SSF Groove Malin acted as auctioneer.
Heating plant work for the New Holland School building is nearly finished and painting is nearly done. The project reached the final approval stage at a meeting of the New Holland School directors on Monday.
Delegates of the Tri-County Council of the Auxiliary gathered at St Stephen Reformed Church for a long session featuring a parade of officers, a historical tribute to former president Mrs John May, and remarks by Hobart Hopkins on Soldiers Orphans School funding. Speakers included Miss Edna Musser and Mrs Esther Beck.

The Ladies Aid of the Leola Methodist Episcopal Church will host an oyster and roast beef supper at the Leola church on Saturday September 26. Proceeds support church activities.

A surprise birthday party was held last Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Myers near Zeltenreich Church for their son Lester who turned twenty one. Local incident at the Stumptown crossroads near Bird in Hand and Monterey left Maurice Trimmer with a fractured arm and bruises, John Henry Sr and Jr with shoulder and jaw injuries, and Charles Peoples and Harry Beck treated for head and facial injuries. All were hospitalized, with Trimmer and Henrys reported improving.
The Enter prise Telephone Company will house a two and a half story brick building in Leola with a first floor exchange and dwelling. Excavation is complete and foundation walls begun. The dedication of the new Manheim post office building will be held Friday afternoon September 25. The event will feature Manheim’s annual Farm Show sponsored by the Manheim Community Association, with shows on September 24 25 and 26.
