David A. Martin sixty two of 24 Union Avenue died Sunday at noon at home after a four week illness. He worked twelve years for New Holland Milling Company and belonged to the United Brethren church. Survived by widow Elizabeth Mae Hollinger and children Hattie, Etta, John G., Reva, Clarence, Adam, plus siblings and half siblings. Girl 4 Drowns in Ice Pond Near Churchtown
A four year old girl, Ruth B. Carvell, drowned after slipping into an ice pond on Walter Rigg farm two miles west of Churchtown. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon while she played near her parents home. Deputy Coroner ruled accidental drowning. Funeral planned Saturday at 1 p.m. followed by services at Rothsville Lutheran church.
