The September term before Judges Landis and Hassler opened with 96 trials after settlements. Notable cases included George Ek. Taylor aka Sunny Jim facing charges, a sodomy-related assault led to a guilty plea and nine months solitary confinement, and Edward Wagner convicted of criminal assault on a eight year old girl with a four year prison term. Henry B Wise, a Bareville resident and well known Palmer, died after a fall from a scaffold while stringing tobacco on Elias Hess’s farm near Bareville. He struck a ladder in the fall and died almost instantly. coroner ruled accidental heart blood vessel rupture. Survived by wife Anna Mae Myers and family. funeral held at his home and Graffdale Mennonite church.

A Delightful Auto Trip Across Mountains to Compassville
Mrs. Mary Eaby widow of Elias Eaby of Atlantic City joined a party with Christian Sensenich of Irwin Marble Works on a 240 mile Lincoln Highway ride. Miss Mary drove the car through the mountains to Compassville then Lancaster and New Holland before reuniting with relatives. The group included Mr and Mrs Sensenich and their daughter. The trip was described as grand and enjoyable.

Fatal Automobile Crash Near Lebanon Claims One Life
J W Kelchner Jr aged twenty one son of J W Kelchner of Lancaster died several hours after a wreck near Lebanon on Thursday afternoon. His car skidded and rolled into a ditch while attempting to pass another vehicle going the same way. Royer of Manheim received minor injuries and helped transport Kelchner to Lebanon Hospital.

Fire destroys barn at Leaman Place causing $1500 loss
A frame barn owned by Lemuel K Del linger at Leaman Place was burned down early Monday afternoon. An automobile and tools were saved while much of the structure was wrecked. Surrounding property was saved by Seaman Place and Paradise Fire Companies, with Harry Hershey narrowly escaping danger.

Auto Wreck Injures Military Party From Mt Gretna
Major Jere Leaman of Lancaster and Mrs Shollenberger suffered serious injuries when a party of 21 en route from Mt Gretna military camp to Huall's tavern crashed on a steep grade. Leaman sustained a compound fracture of the right arm while Shollenberger had a severe scalp laceration. Both were taken to Lebanon Sanitarium. others escaped serious harm.

Auto strike fractures man killed by street work crash
Barrie resident Henry Fredeck, age about 72, was struck by a machine on Lancaster Street near Souderton while workers cleared debris. The vehicle, driven by an unidentified man, passed over Fredeck causing compound fractures. He was taken home then to Webter Hospital for treatment.
