A free rodeo show is tentatively set for Farmers Day opening night on the Shaub property on Franklin street. The event kicks off a series of exhibits including quoit, harmonica and corn husking contests in New Holland October 6 7 and 8 with Boys Band entertainment and Legion cooperation. Entries for contests are due October first at the Rubinson Store. The Lions Club funds the cups for the harmonica and corn husking competitions.

Liberty Fire Company Opts Out Of State Parade
At a Wednesday meeting the Liberty Fire Company decided not to participate in the State Firemen Convention parade in Lancaster next month. The local unit is no longer a state member. Fire Chief C. R. Bair urged members to attend the county meeting in Brownstown later this month. A committee led by Fire Chief William Keechel and the writer was formed to survey a separate fire house for all company activities.
