Frank McKeown, who lost both arms as a child in a Passaic rubber factory, performed an athletic exhibition on Monday. He used his feet to handle objects, folded his coat, and demonstrated striking, throwing, and pitching motions through his arm stumps.

Emanuel E. Weinhold died Tuesday at noon at his Leola home from heart neuralgia in his sixty third year. Survived by wife and daughter Anna, wife of Mobler Good, of East Bareville. Funeral Saturday at 1 PM at home and 1:30 PM at Mechanicsburg Lutheran church. burial in adjoining cemetery. Funeral director J. C. Henninger in charge. Rachel L. Shiffer died Saturday evening at Terre Hill home aged fifty five, daughter of William and Catharine Jacoby of Voganville. Active Centre Reformed Church member and Sunday school teacher survived by husband Israel M. Shiffer and children William J., Mrs. William R. Fife of Lancaster, and Rev. Horace A. of Baltimore. Funeral at Terre Hill home Tuesday at 2:30 PM. burial in Terre Hill cemetery.

Ford Tractor Demonstration At Diffenbach Farm
Messrs Martin and Springer from Geneva Ohio demonstrated an Adapto Tractor on Abram Diffenbach’s Witmer farm. The Ford Roadster was converted to a tractor in minutes, pulling a 24 Disc Harrow and heavy roller, and later ground corn on the ear with a double lug feed grinder. Demonstrations by W W Martin and John Lauder will proceed in Lancaster County.

A recent issue with garment samples is resolved none returned and sewing praised. A market on Saturday September 15 at 1 pm on the public school grounds will aid the local treasury. Canvassers will visit homes next week seeking donations of vegetables fruit pies cakes bread and other gifts plus items for the 5 cent counter.

Claim Infantile Paralysis Curbed In County
County physicians report the infantile paralysis advance is curbed and no current special danger exists though continued sanitary vigilance is urged. A germ was found at the Jewish hospital in Philadelphia and can be isolated and treated. Dr C Howard Witmer notes only one new county case last week a three year old girl Priscilla King daughter of Abner and wife of Leacock township deaths exceed ten this year with over forty cages reported since early July.

Our Public School Opens With Good Enrollment
Public schools opened last Monday at 8:30 with all teachers present and a good pupil attendance for a nine month term. Renovated classrooms and pleasant weather aided a smooth start. Early enrollment figures include First Grade Gertrude Schmobl with 86 pupils, Second Grade Marie Smith with 46, and Third and Fourth Grades taught by Mrs A Dy. Pleasant Auto Trip Highlights Visits Across Lancaster Area
Mr and Mrs H J Sweigart of Philadelphia with Mr and Mrs Horace Sweigart and Mr and Mrs G Ewell spent days together. They toured Elizabethtown to see the Masonic Home enjoyed by all especially Mr Sweigart a longtime Malonic Order member.
