The 6th annual Philip Ranck descendants reunion was held August 27 1913 at Indianola Park Columbus with over 150 attendees. Officers elected include President F M Ranch Westerville and Treasurer Lewis Ranck Weasterville with a large genealogy committee and out of town guests from Indiana and Ohio. The gathering featured a long communal meal and a day of visiting and reconnecting before 5 pm departures.

Regular session held in the Council Chamber on Monday at 8 pm with all members present. Finance Committee reported $140.91 in bills ordered paid, leaving $2,104.87 in the treasury. Law and Ordinance Committee presented a dog at large ordinance, passing two readings and to take effect after next monthly meeting.
Carriers Reach Pottsville for Rural Letter Carriers Meet
Martin Glowner and four New Holland carriers journeyed in Glowner’s Austin on Labor Day to Pottsville for the Pennsylvania State Rural Letter Carriers Association convention. They left New Holland at 6 a.m. and returned by way of Reading and Adamstown, arriving back at 8:30 p.m. The group enjoyed the trip and the convention proceedings.

Death by Own Hand Harry P Wanner Ends Life in New Holland
Harry P Wanner of this borough died last Monday evening after taking poison. He had strychnine at home and died within twenty minutes. Born in the Pequea valley he lived in New Holland about eleven years and worked at the New Holland Machine Works. Survived by wife and five children Clair William Edgar Charles Amos. Funeral held yesterday conducted by Rev S M Mountz and buried beside Pequea Presbyterian Church. Funeral director Henninger in charge.

A Saturday evening celebration at the Schnupp home attracted about 200 guests in a lively, well behaved party. Near Tragedy on the Mountain on the Welsh Mountain
On Wednesday evening a shooting occurred on the Welsh Mountain. Howard Dennis was shot in both legs by William Wells after being found in company with Wells's wife. Dr. J. E. Hostetter treated Dennis removing about 60 pellets from one leg and under ten from the other. Wells was arrested by Constable H. E. Hess and imprisoned. Authorities expect no serious outcome if blood poisoning does not occur.

Whitaker quarry dispute prompts injunction in Caernarvon

The adjoining Welsh Mountain lands in Caernarvon township face sliding caused by an 80 near the boundary.
