Lancaster Banker J Frederick Sener Dies at 86
J Frederick Sener longtime Lancaster banker and head of Northern National Bank died Monday night at Hermosa Vista on the Lititz turnpike in his 87th year. He had served as bank president until August and was active in Grace Lutheran church and the Masonic Fraternity. Funeral was held yesterday at 10:30 from his home with private interment in Woodward Hill cemetery. Also reported: Dr. Frederick W. Ainsworth of Lancaster died Monday at 225 East Clay Street from bladder trouble and weak heart aged 68. Funeral and interment details noted. Frank Elmer, former Gap butcher, died Monday in Asheville North Carolina aged 34. He leaves wife and parents plus several siblings. Funeral and Quarryville interment.

Two Read ing Railroad Company laborers Teo Rostell and Petro Carillo, section hands, were run down by a train at Kirevier's Crossing northwest of Lancaster on Friday evening. Rostell was about thirty and Carillo about twenty eight.

A Tuesday corn roast at George S. Ranch capped a five week contest between United Brethren church Men and Ladies classes. The Ladies won by 18 points in a percentage basis, while the men hosted the feast with a large lunch and strong coffee by Robert Keiser. About 75 attendees enjoyed moonlight, with Roy Brubaker and Mrs. Frank Showalter leading the classes and teachers Charles Zwally and Mrs. William Hoover guiding the event. The ladies claimed victory and called the men “Real Entertainers.”
