New Holland defeats Terre Hill 4 to 0 in the opener as Weaver dominates the mound with 16 locals retired. Krause also tough, but errors and timely hits seal the win for New Holland in a spirited series setup for a deciding third game.

The New Holland borough schools began a new nine month term last Monday with teachers and students reuniting cheerfully. Enrollment totals reach 171 with 58 in primary, 28 in secondary, 87 in grammar, and 58 in high school, up six from last year. Fourteen beginners started in the primary room.

Stella Hichelberger, six, daughter of Mr and Mrs Geo Hichelberger of Millway, was fatally burned Monday when her clothes caught fire after a wood stove fire was lit. Mrs Hichelberger burned her hands attempting to help. doctors A V Walters and Henry Walters attended but the burns proved fatal before midnight. Funeral services were held Thursday morning with many relatives and friends in attendance.
The Groffdale Mennonite district will hold services at the Voganville meeting house tomorrow at 9:00 o clock. The new Groffdale church is yet to be built.
A group from New Holland led by Register of Wills Seldomridge toured Northern Lancaster County visiting Voganville Browns town Rothsville Lititz Brunnerville Clay Weidmanville Lincoln Stevens Denver Reamstown Ephrata Murrell and Hinkletown. They met W D Leed in Denver and spoke with Christian Fluckinger and Jefferson Rem while sharing social chats with the editor and locals.
Mrs. L. J. Denlinger and child have moved from her parents’ home to a new brick house built on the former Seaman Place site after their previous residence burned three months ago. They began housekeeping again yesterday, with friends wishing them better luck in the new home.
Rev George B Raczer, longtime pastor at Pennbrook, has accepted the call of the Reformed Church at Maytown and moved to the new assignment.
