Jacob Patches once a loom fixer at the local silk mill sails for Lima Peru aboard the Santa Rita with Lewis Peck and Mrs Patches and son Rodger. They travel from New York via Panama Canal to work for one year in a Lima mill. Patches, from Myerstown, joined Lancaster’s Moore Dairy before moving. He taught at the Lutheran church in New Holland.

Melsheimer Memorial Tablet Unveiled by Local Groups
