Col Daniel Strickler of Lancaster will speak at an Armistice Day service at Zeltenreich Reformed Church next Sunday at 7 30 pm. He commanded Company B 109th Machine Gun Battalion 29th Division in World War I and was wounded twice. The New Holland American Legion Post Auxiliary and Sons of the Legion will attend. Seven veterans are buried in Zeltenreich Cemetery including Moore Dunlap Clark Brendle Palmer Kautz Kling. An invitation to attend is extended.

Four year old Ralph Kreidler tripped while playing at R S Brubaker’s residence and knocked out several teeth. The Re formed church celebrated its second anniversary with Rev George H Johnston of West Philadelphia delivering the sermon. Officers elected for the term include President Michael R Good Vice President Andrew F Shrom Secretary Margie Sutton Treasurer Rev D W Gerhard. A six month old child of Martin Burkhart was found dead from brain dropy after an inquest by Deputy Coroner Weaver. The county commissioners awarded the iron bridge contract over the Conestoga at the paper mill to Columbia Bridge Company of Dayton Ohio. Skating rink efforts failed due to small room rough floor and proximity to a barroom. The rink was located in the west end of the Styer House now occupied by American Stores Co. The first shipment from the new cigar factory on Railroad avenue went to Detroit Michigan with fifty five to fifty workers employed. A carload of apples reached the focal railroad station with 160 barrels and only six remaining unsold by evening. An effort to organize a Union Literary Society for local entertainments continued.

John B. Rogers eighty six of Rose Avenue Lancaster died at 7 15 Tuesday morning at his home from a complication of diseases after a three year illness. Borough Council Adopts Bond Plans and Land Sale
The council approved two ordinances after three readings. One calls for redeeming 35000 in borough bonds as of January 1 1936 and the other authorizes 525,509 in borough bonds to refund debt and finance interest and expenses. The goal is a lower interest rate. The measures also authorize sale of the bonds and note a deed for land on Union avenue and State street as part of the Groff tract.
