Liberty Fire Company met on Wednesday night with President Llewelyn Schnader in charge. Reports were given by Fire Chief Harry K Weaver and Lewis L H Martin who spoke on the state session in Greensburg. John H Martin was elected a new member. Henry G Nagle resigned as secretary after ten years. Nominations were laid out for president John Wagner and Ralph Sprecher. vice presidents Raymond Sheaffer and Ivan P Lowry. secretary Ralph Good. treasurer D H Styer. Borough Council Plans to Rent Reservoir Property
The borough council plans to rent the reservoir property and discontinue caretaker residence use. Electric lights are being installed in the reservoir house. A delegation including Deputy Secretary of Highways Charles Buckins reported that the State Highway Department cannot enter the widening of North Railroad Avenue entrance until the borough acquires and clears the right of way. The resignation of Harlan R. Landis as sewer superintendent was accepted, and George L. Dissinger was named to succeed him.
