Library patrons report forty seven supporters in week one as the free public library seeks funds via 50 cent gifts. Contributions may be given to librarians or Business and Professional Woman's Club members to sustain books and services for all in the community.
The New Holland Legion Auxiliary hosted a bingo and candy party for veterans at the Coatesville Hospital on Tuesday evening with Halloween themed decorations. Prizes were awarded to all attendees and refreshments served. Participants included Miss Jeanette Kochel and many local residents.
Mr and Mrs Carl H Groff of this borough announce a son born at 9 05 am Friday at Lancaster General Hospital. Mr and Mrs John Plaumiller of Goodville announce a daughter born Monday morning at their home. Mr and Mrs Paul Acker of Ephrata R3 announce a son born Saturday morning at their home. Mr and Mrs Amos Stoltzfus of Lancaster R5 announce a son born at 4 35 pm Wednesday at Lancaster General Hospital.

Mrs. Irvin Diffenderfer captain of the New Holland Girl Scouts along with Mrs. Clyde Kauffman and Elizabeth Groff lieutenants are taking the Leadership Training Course held each Wednesday evening at the Community building Lancaster. Miss Catherine Seltzer directs the program.

Hiram H. Lindsay fifty four died suddenly at his Gap home from a heart attack. He was a railway mail clerk and member of several local fraternal and church groups. Survived by wife Mary Stauffer Lindsay and three children, with funeral at his Gap home and Bellevue Presbyterian church.

The Welfare Federation mobilization meeting opens its 16th annual campaign at McCaskey Wash School Auditorium on Wednesday evening November 6. Dr William Lewis will preside with Bernard Zimmerman as campaign mobilization chairman. The program includes an organ prelude a color presentation by scouts readings and musical selections by the Symphony Orchestra and chorus officials and dignitaries are invited to attend.
The Foremen's Training School and Lancaster County Firemen's Association run early sessions with cooperation from Public Safety. About one hundred fifty have enrolled with limited spaces. sessions begin next week across multiple towns including Ephrata and New Holland and announce weekly meeting times.
