Eneas W. Lundy died at his home 933 Spruce street Columbia on Friday morning May 2 after a long illness. He was 73, longtime Columbia resident, and leaves a wife Emma Kaley, a nephew Edward J. Lundy, and four nieces. Funeral at St Stephen Reformed church in Columbia. Amos R. Kochel died Monday morning in Upper Leacock township after heart attacks. he was about 70, a former teacher, Zion's Lutheran Church elder, Mechanicsburg fire company vice president, and a noted local builder of lightning rods. Survived by two brothers in Ohio.

A store window at Diller Hardware showcases relics including a leather fire bucket marked Lancaster Gaol No. 1 from the old jail on North Prince Street near Fulton Opera House. Also on display is a German wood frame lantern over 100 years old, crafted in Germany. Pieces belong to Mrs Emma Hoar, niece of Mrs Je Warfel, recently arrived from Lancaster. A German army rifle with a five shot automatic chamber is shown, sent by Ames Bair Jr., a local resident. Also on display are two German helmets.

Memorial Day Observance Plans And Scout Social
Memorial Day exercises were outlined by Scout Master G S Townsley with a U S church gathering at 6 pm followed by services at multiple cemeteries and addresses by Revs S M Mountz and C G Bachman. The Far Patrol of New Holland Troop hosted a Scout social on the Clarion lawn despite rain, selling cats and netting about twenty dollars.
