New Holland plans a Memorial Day opening for its Community Swimming Pool under a local citizen group. The pool and pavilions were prepared, grounds improved, and a refreshment stand is planned. Season tickets and daily rates are offered at Community Cut Rate Store and Clarion Office with varied prices for adults and children.
Initiation of eight new members by Earl Lodge No 418 I O O F New Holland. The Degree Team will assist in conferring the First Degree on Friday evening May 29 at 8 30 o clock. All members are urged to attend.
The King's Daughters unit will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Mrs. Sydney Irons's home. The gathering is moved a week earlier because the annual party occurs June 9 in the school auditorium.
A brief memorial service will be held on the school lawn at 11 30 o clock under the auspices of the American Legion. Rev C G Bachman will speak.

Mrs Anna Z Souder wife of Abraham R Souder of Goodville died at 12 30 p m Wednesday after nine months illness. She was a member of the Goodville Mennonite church and is survived by children Bertha wife of Israel Musser Anna wife of Joseph Good Bird in Hand Harry at home and Abraham Earl RB1 ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral from Goodville Mennonite church Saturday at 2 p m with interment in Weaverland Mennonite cemetery. Friends may call at home Friday 7 to 9 p m.
Mrs Samuel Glick died Saturday at her Narvon home. The obituary notes her as Glick Salinda wife of Samuel Glick with details continued on page four.
The Baltimore Salvage for Victory Committee reports success in averting a waste paper shortage through housewife cooperation. William R MacClayton notes area paperboard mills have more waste paper than current capacity can process. The drive will shift to scrap metals and rubber, with an intensive June campaign to collect old rubber and metals.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bontreger of this borough earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from West Chester State Teachers College on Tuesday.

Respondents are urged to give as much as possible in the small envelope and return it by mail or deposit at Farmers National Bank and Trust Company. a bank box will accept envelopes.
The annual Memorial Day service in Churchtown will be held Saturday May 30. A parade forms at 7:00 PM at the Fire Hall led by the Honey Brook Band, stops at three cemeteries for grave decorations, then a program in Caernarvon Fire Hall features Col Charles P. Stahr and Rev Frank B. Dilks with special music.
New Holland Alumni Association invites the Class of 1942 and parents to a reception in the high school art room tonight after commencement. Marian Frankhouser will perform on the marimba and refreshments will be served by the organizing committee chaired by Mrs. Charles Rice.

The graduating class of 1942 will hold commencement exercises Friday at the New Holland High School Auditorium. Dr. Theodore A. Distler of Franklin and Marshall College will be the best speaker. Student speakers include Ruth Ditzler Leo Grant Marian Dunn Eleanore Knecht Hazel Martin Barbara Hooker and James Evans. The program features an orchestra, prayer, memories, and a diploma presentation by J Harvey Shue.
