Obituary of Charles Kennedy Former Chester County Resident

Charles Kennedy aged 65 was found dead in bed at his New Holland home Sunday morning. Coroner J C Henninger and Dr P R Wentz pronounced death due to apoplexy. A former Chester County resident, he came to New Holland last spring and worked for H L Stauffer of Stauffer Sales Company. Survived by brother Thomas Kennedy of Downingtown and sister Emma wife of David Lightcap Phoenixville. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm Brandywine Manor Presbyterian Church Chester County followed by burial in nearby cemetery.

Mrs Dorothy Ream Myers 58 wife of George Myers died at home in Alert Sunday at 2 15 pm after six months illness. She was a Mt Zion church member. Robert Bair son of Mr and Mrs Charles F Bair of Roberts Avenue received an operation by Dr Rugh a Philadelphia bone specialist about seven weeks ago and has been a patient at Lancaster General Hospital. His condition is improved and it is expected he will be up and around within the next month.

New Holland Plans Daily Vacation Bible School

The New Holland Federation of Churches will sponsor the boroughs first Daily Vacation Bible School from June 13 to July 1 at the Lutheran and Reformed Churches. Sessions run 8 45 to 11 15 each morning with ten teachers and classes for ages four to fifteen. The program includes Bible stories crafts games and short plays directed by Rev C G Bachman presiding over a church committee.

Well Baby Clinic Held at Trinity Lutheran New Holland

Post office hours for Memorial Day observed

Memorial Day is a legal holiday with no town or rural mail deliveries. The General Delivery window remains open from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for mail distribution at the local post office.

Clock line ups arrives as demand grows

Notice to customers that mantle clocks have arrived in large supply. Anyone spending ten dollars within a month can buy a six dollar clock for two dollars and ninety eight cents. Customers are invited to visit and inspect the timepieces.
