Last Saturday evening Captain Abram Settly hosted a banquet at the Eagle Hotel for forty eight survivors of the 9th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers. The reunion, nineteen years after disbandment, recalled service from 1861 and a march with Grant to Appomattox. A separate note reports a theft at Cyrus Mentzer’s shoe shop, with boots shoes and slippers worth about 450 dollars stolen, and labor lost.
