He lived in Manheim until 1925 worked as a florist and was married twice first wife Lizzie S Waser deceased twenty six years second wife Jane K Rogers deceased two years.

Legion Auxiliary Officer Injured in Fall at Home
Mrs. Charles A. Mentzer, president of the Bi County Council of the American Legion Auxiliaries for Lancaster and Chester counties, was severely injured in a fall down three flights of stairs at her home yesterday morning. She suffered a broken right arm at the wrist and back injuries after tripping while going to the third floor for clothing.

The Loyal Workers Circle of the Kings Daughters of New Holland met at Mrs. H C Warner’s East Earl home. Miss Miriam Shaub dies after Lancaster crash injuries
Miss Miriam Shaub of 2.5 East Orange Street Lancaster died at 6 25 am in General Hospital from injuries suffered in a automobile accident at Chestnut and Limb streets on Tuesday May 2. She was walking with Mrs George Mearig, now in hospital with severe injuries after the car overturned pinning both women. She taught music at Shippen School, was a longtime contralto soloist at First Presbyterian church, and studied at Madame Cotta College and Philadelphia Music Academy. Services will be held at Fred F Groff parlors with interment in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening.
