An obituary notes the death of a 63 year old woman after several months illness. Born July 27 1859 in New Holland she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Schair. Funeral services are at East Undertaking on Friday at 9 30 am with further rites at Center Church near Spring Grove at 10 80 o clock and burial in the adjoining cemetery.
The Reform Church minister will preach four sermons in May based on Joel texts to show the eternal meaning and modern application. Florence Bernice Bair of St Stephen church will perform a brief organ recital at 6 45 next Sunday evening, with the choir singing a special number.
Large crowds attend Trinity services with emphasis on Sundays and the upcoming catechetical lecture on the Sacrament of the Altar. A Monday volunteer-labor call drew about 80 men, with rain and power outages affecting turnout. remaining workers persevered and completed the task.
The May meeting of the New Holland Ministerial Association was held at the Reformed parsonage with Rev Longenecker unable to attend. A Sunday afternoon school league game between Athodists and Brethrens left two boys injured. One boy suffered an eye strike and an ankle sprain after a Brethren team member fouled in. The injured boy remained in the game and performed well at bat though his injury may prevent walking for some time.
Dr Charles S Duttenhofer formerly a physician now living in Churchtown and Miss Mary Hyman of Churchtown were married last Wednesday at noon at the bridegroom’s parents home 387 West Orange Lancaster Rev EB L Lessey officiated They plan to reside in Churchtown after a wedding trip to Atlantic City
The ceremony took place at 4 PM Saturday in Mechanicsturg with Rev. Claude O. Dieroff officiating. Only close family and friends attended. a ring ceremony was used and a reception followed. The newlyweds will reside on Ferdinand Street in Manheim. Miss Weidler worked at Garvin's store and Mr. Brown is superintendent of the Manheim Division of the Edison Electric Light Company. Both are graduates of Upper Leacock High School.
Mr. and Mrs. A B Sheaffer and son Raymond entertained Sunday afternoon at their Brimmer Avenue home. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Thatcher Mr. and Mrs. Martin Yohn Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nixdorff and children all of Lancaster. Also present were members of Gloucester Street dent orchestra with leader Charles Williams and guests Mr. Victor Singer Mr. Elmer Trimble and Mr. Samuel Huzzard furnishing music.
Charles Frank, a mechanic, from New Holland Machine Company delivered crushers to Antietam Maryland last Tuesday for setup and then will proceed to Oakland Maryland for another crusher awaiting assembly.

Miss Maude Evans read and Emma Shetzley Alta Russell Dorothy Mohler led another talent playlet. Games followed by a light luncheon. About seventy five men and women attended a very enjoyable evening.
William Caum of New Holland Machine Company is confined at Lancaster General Hospital with picturo pneumonia described as serious. Amos Hosner, a clerk and foreman at the PRR freight station, returns to work after a week of quinty illness. Pearl Wolf, a local post office clerk, remains home on North Custer Avenue with illness.

A paint demonstration will be held May 4 and 6 at A. B. Groff & Sons store in Holland. The event will show the merits and making process of B. P. S. Paints and appeals to those interested in painting.
New Holland residents will join a large Memorial Day celebration organized by Conestoga Post No 662 American Legion. A morning graveside service with firing squad, an afternoon parade with three bands, and an evening festival at the Athletic Association grounds are planned. Proceeds fund a Legion building fund to buy a local home.
J C Henninger funeral director and furniture dealer of the borough begins a tour visiting six Pennsylvania cities. As Third Vice President of the Pennsylvania State Funeral Directors Association he attends county meetings with the State secretary. Philadelphia Montgomery Chester Lancaster Lebanon Berks Dauphin counties are on the schedule this week.
Mr and Mrs H Mw Stauffer of Leola announce the engagement of their daughter Haery A Swadta of Philadelphia to a member of the Methordiet Episcopal church in Leola.
New Holland started Saturday slowly as Jupe Plavine caused a near drown by sprinkling car and rain spoiled the game. Fulton A C joined in as the weather worsened and players shifted yet plans endure for a return match. Keeler aims to field the strongest lineup for the Eastern Lancaster County League opener set for May 12 against Terre Hill with new players likely.
Work on the North Custer Avenue ball field moves quickly toward Decoration Day. Tractors and wagons fill the site as fence posts and lumber arrive. The grandstand is in place and the big stand should be ready for Memorial Day. Subscriptions for fence sections are urged, payable to W. E. Davis or treasurer L. M. Storb.
