Bainbridge High Student Accused in Quarry Slaying
Last Sunday a 15 year old Bainbridge High School junior Vervian Arnett shot and killed Steve Filipac a 86 year old Slav employed at Billmyer quarries. Arnett fired two shots from a revolver after seeing a man enter a outbuilding on his father's premises. The coroner ruled wilful murder and Arnett was jailed but released on 1060 bail. The town was under smallpox quarantine at the time.
