News Recordings note Rev. Dr. Geo S Butz of Redeemer's Reformed Church is resigning to take a charge in New Holland Lancaster County. He will assume duties the first Monday in April. The Littlestown parish mourns the loss while praising his exceptional preaching and character. Mrs Butz is likewise remembered fondly.

The Bareville Concrete Company forms an industrial addition near the railroad and trolley in Bareville along the New Holland turnpike. The firm produces pier blocks chimney moulds window sills fence posts and other concrete products meeting rising local demand for buildings and structures.

Bible Class Social at U B Church Parsonage

The Adult Women's Bible Class held a social at the parsonage last Thursday evening. The program included scripture reading, prayer, singing, a duet, a recitation, and a talk by Mrs Rachel Mentzer. Refreshments followed and the class aims to benefit both school and church. All Women without a church home are invited to attend.

New Holland Athletic Association Plans April Fair

The New Holland Athletic Association announces a fair in the Showalter Building from April 10 to 24, open Wednesday and Saturday evenings. The event will feature nightly music by prominent organizations, numerous donations, and a large exhibit display. Further announcements will follow and the public is urged to attend.

Sensenich and Rutter are wed at United Evangelical parsonage

Paul M. Sensenich of Beartown and Mary K. Rutter daughter of Newton Rutter and wife of Blue Ball were married at the United Evangelical parsonage Fetterville on Saturday morning at ten o clock by Rev M D Simpson. They were unattended and beloved by many friends. After April 1 they will reside in Fetterville.

A box social will be held this evening by the Y M C A in the Showalter Building. A large crowd is expected as many invitations have been issued. The public is invited to attend and enjoy a jolly evening with a fine lunch available for purchase.

Good Roads Association Formed for County Road Work

The Good Roads Association organized at Intercourse to improve roads with Dr Donald McCaskey as temporary chairman. Willis R Knox called for broad membership and the group voted a $1 yearly fee to fund hall rent printing travel speakers and road warnings with a vigilance committee to report bad roads.

Trinity Church Vestry Meets Amid Holy Week Plans

The vestry met to review the year and set Holy Week services including two Good Friday services and Palm Sunday observances. The Rev Mountz marks eleven years of pastoral leadership with an anniversary sermon and the choir robes and processional plan will debut tomorrow.

S. G. Renno of Kenvnsre North Dakota departed Tuesday to join his wife and daughter and his aging father in law after a three week visit with his parents Mr and Mrs Elias Renno of Intercourse and sisters Mrs John M Beiler of Dry Hill and Mrs R Z Stoltzfus near Intercourse. Renno had spent much time with his seriously ill father who is now recovering slowly. Friends regret his brief farewell and hope for another visit within ten years.

Robbery Hits J. W. Showalter Hardware Store

Robbers pried rear shutters and lifted a window sash to enter the J. W. Showalter hardware shop on Thursday night. They took about six revolvers, cartridges, a gold watch from the safe, some change and other hardware. No clue to the robbers. Edwin B. Renninger discovered the theft at opening.

Terre Hill Social Roundup and School Closure Notes

Terrehill and nearby residents visited neighbors on Sunday while boro schools were closed for teachers to visit other schools. Miss Elsie Roger from Lancaster stays with Mary Watts. The Evangelical Church held a well attended Men's Meeting and evangelistic services this week with topics on moral instruction for girls.

Ishmael Morrow aged Civil War veteran and former New Holland native, long time CLARION subscriber, lies seriously ill at his son in law Harvey A Moore’s home on the Canton and New Berlin road in Ohio. Friends in the east hope for his full recovery.
