Fire Destroys Large Barn Near Witmer
A large barn on Amos U. Glick’s farm northwest of Witmer near Hartman’s Station burned at about 10 30 a m Wednesday. Fire chief Jacob Glick estimated losses at around 10 000 with the structure 40 by 90 feet holding hay, corn, potatoes, grain, livestock and farming gear. Six horses and ten cows were saved. a two story chicken house survived partial damage as fire crews from multiple towns aided the blaze.
