Hettie Souder died Friday at her sister Mrs Samuel Zinn home in Mantindale after a ten day paralysis stroke. She was 71 and a member of the Center Lutheran church. She is survived by brothers and sisters including Mrs. Aeene of Foliarectay and David.

Arrests of a Bad Lot of Incendiaries Shake Columbia

On Wednesday evening last, eleven State Police from Troop E arrested eight young suspects, all members of the Vigilant Fire Company. Several others were charged as implicated after confessing. The group, aged 18 to 20 mostly, claimed they wanted to impress women by showing bravery at fires. The accused were sent to jail for trial after a hearing before Squire McGrann.
