Mrs Sarah Stoltzfus widow of Simeon G Stoltzfus died at her home near town on a Friday night from pneumonia after a week of illness. She was 72 years 2 months and 9 days old, a long time resident of the area and member of the Amish church. She is survived by eight children Susie Stephen Lapp Samuel Jacob Mary Annie Sarah and Simeon G and two died in infancy. 46 grandchildren. Funeral from her home Tuesday March 11 with burial in the nearby cemetery.

A heavy snow and wind storm struck Lancaster County from Monday night through Tuesday night causing widespread damage. Trolley service was crippled and major highways were blocked by downed poles and tangled wires. New Holland faced isolation with lost telephone and telegraph service as power lines failed. No casualties were reported though many poles broke and roads were obstructed. Repairs will take several days.

Twenty four Kentucky bred driving and saddle horses were purchased by Lancaster countians at Skouffer Sales Barns New Holland. The shipment came from W H Whaley Paris Kentucky who ships here for twenty nine years. Five hundred people attended with prices from 60 to 150 dollars per head.
