Boy Scouts to Mark 21st Anniversary in New Holland

Troop No. 1 of the Boy Scouts of New Holland celebrates its 21st founding anniversary with a March 15 program at 7 30 p m in the high school auditorium. Scout Executive C W Armstrong of Rochester Minn is expected to attend. Pageant includes National Jamboree photos, welcome by Isaac W Cauller, highlights of 21 years of scouting by George S Townsley, and merit badge presentations.

The Bertolet Family from Reading will conduct a gospel service at Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church at 7 30 Sunday evening March 13. The program includes trumpet duets accordion and vocal solos a gospel message and chalk drawings.

Man Killed In Runaway Team Accident Near Morgantown

Henry F Stoltzfus forty four farmer of near Morgantown died of a fractured skull after a wagon ran away on Route 23 near his farm. He was pinned beneath a wrecked wagon after a post crash. Coroner ruled accidental death hour after admission to Lancaster General Hospital. Funeral set for 9 am at the Stoltzfus home with Mast Cemetery interment.

From Over the Trail to the Past March 10 1888 a Cedar Grove High School Literary Society debate questions if the Welsh Mountain chapel benefits the community. Man Severely Injured at Narvon Mine

Roy Weiler thirty five of Narvon was working alone atop a clay and gravel separator at the Whitaker mine when his right arm was drawn into moving gears. He freed his arm and descended sixty feet to the ground calling for aid. It was amputated below the elbow at St Joseph’s hospital. Dozens offered blood but none had the proper type.
