Thumb Crushed When Truck Hit Telegraph Pole
Frank Riley, an employee at the Silk Mill, was injured while helping move finished silk to the railroad. The truck swerved while crossing tracks and crushed his thumb between the truck and a telegraph pole, fracturing a bone and severing an artery. He required several stitches and faces a lengthy recovery.

The High School Alumni Association of New Helland presented Farn Folks a four act farce to an ample audience in Harner's theatre. Eleven young performers impressed with natural, well-acted parts under Prof. H L Rand's direction. The set and scenery were praised and many attendees urged another performance.
