Goodville Man Dies in Action Abroad
Robert W. Martin Staff Sergeant U.S. Army Air Corps and New Holland High School 1937 graduate was killed in action in North Africa. A telegram to his parents in Goodville dated February 28 reports his death on February 14. He entered service June 1941 and served at multiple bases before flying to North Africa. He leaves a brother Allen F. Martin in the Coast Guard and a sister Hazel, plus grandmother Mrs Elizabeth Fox. A memorial service is set for Sunday at Bridgeville Evangelical Congregational Church.
