A long list of residents and visitors in the town, detailing where individuals are from and where they are visiting. Names include Loretta Weinhbold Lancaster Miriam Baum Reading and John Manderbach among others, with various weekend stays and calls noted.
Trinity Church schedules a March Sunday afternoon meeting led by the Men’s Adult Bible Class with Rev J E Whittaker of Lancaster as speaker. Louise Mearig will sing a solo at a Sunday school service and a St Patrick Day sale by Ladies Aid and Missionary Society is set for the basement of the church next week.
A self styled evangelist known as Sunny Jim or George C Taylor was arrested in Lancaster after a hotel room meeting with a police officer's son led to allegations of an obscene letter and an assault with intent to commit an unmentionable act. He had recently left Terre Hill after a two week revival and was paid 200 for services. A temperance meeting followed at Bils Anna H Rol in Lancaster with a Frances Willard memorial program and new W C T U officers including Anna Wright and Amanda Landes.
The Trinity Lutheran church Sunday school room hosted a crowded and well received musical and literary program by the church choir on Tuesday evening. Performers included Irma Shaub Maria Bender Mary Roseboro Louise Mearig Emily Rutter Ruth Shaub and Edna Dickerscheid with piano and vocal solos and recitations. Prof Herbert L Murr gave an outstanding piano display and organizers plan a return engagement.
Beginning Monday March 13 barber shops will close every evening at 9 except Friday 10 and Saturday 12. Starting Saturday March 18 haircuts will cost 25 cents on Saturdays.
The Ladies' Aid Society of the Leola M. E. church will host a measuring social at H M Stauffer's residence in Leola on Friday evening March 10. Attendees will be measured on entry and taxed two cents per foot plus one cent per additional inch. Recitations and music are planned with refreshments and ice cream and cakes for sale. All are invited.
At the annual evangelical church conference the following appointments for the ensuing year were listed for the county Brownstown Ephrata Krupp Tan B Luckenbill Terra Hill and others.
The New Holland Athletic Association hosts a weekly fair drawing large crowds with the Blue Ball orchestra performing and many cake and prize displays selling at high prices. Tonight promises another big night with added attractions and a strong musical program to boost funds for a fast ball club to represent the town on the diamond.
St Stephen Reformed Church announces monthly Ladies Aid and Men's Bible Class meetings Thursday at 7 pm. Consistory gathers Sunday at 6 pm. Annual business meeting of consistory and trustees next Monday at 10 am. Dr Butz will preach on Jesus Passing By at Sunday morning service. Foreign Missionary Day observed Sunday at 7 pm with service The World So Loved the World. Dr Butz to speak on The Worlds Need Militarium or the Gospel. Public invited.
A public sale of securities from the estate of Rachel Sprecher and others drew many bidders Saturday afternoon. Prices ranged from 19 50 to 325 per share with buyers including RON Bowers Lydia Wenger Benjamin Getz Eli Hess Clement Yehn Harry Weaver and Benjamin Hoover among others.
Mrs Augustus Demming celebrated her 1st birthday anniversary with a handkerchief surprise and gifts totaling seven handkerchiefs two prong two pairs of stockings a table covering two fruit dishes four postcards and a valentine. Friends from multiple towns sent gifts and many attended an evening gathering with music and a visiting club from Stevens.
Tobacco farmers are instructed to deliver tobacco trash to the warehouse every Tuesday forenoon until further notice. Price is set at 2 to 3 cents per puunu. 18-1 £.
Bran and corn carloads received by Musselman Bros of New Holland Pa will be sold at special prices on Monday and Tuesday March 7. This notice advertises a local sale event with emphasis on bran and corn.

The Ladies Auxiliary will hold their monthly meeting next Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. B. F. Alderfer. Members are urged to be present.
A flood of notices from Rothsville to Akron pay tribute to local residents who died recently. The bereaved include Mrs. Sarah Sweigart Ruhl, Mrs. Elizabeth Elliott, Eva Miller, John Ko Wilheffer, and Daniel Giet, with services held at Lutheran and Brethren churches and interments in area cemeteries. Surviving families and community roles noted.
On Tuesday evening Miss Meta Martin hosted the C. C. Sewing Circle at her east of the boro home. Mrs. Leroy Hall, Elizabeth and Anna Snader, Ethel Smith, Erla Hall, Grace Bair, Mary Davis, Bertha Segboldt attended. Refreshments were served and all enjoyed the gathering. The next meeting will be at Miss Cora Martin's home.
Milton Hershey of Salisbury assigns for the benefit of creditors to Herbert Hershey of the same township. Papers are recorded in the recorder of deeds office.
