Hezekiah the Frog Hollow storekeeper transfers his shop to Heas Hall and hosts a home talent comedy tonight. Cast directed by C. W. Bahn of Harrisburg promises a clever, funny performance with ample advance ticket sales and strong community support.
Hess Hall hosts a spelling bee on Tuesday evening March 7 conducted by the local high school boys. Four classes offer four prizes each and the program includes music recitations and dialogues starting at 7 30. Proceeds fund athletic and baseball clubs and equipment. A subscriber from Intercourse pledges a dollar for another year.
This afternoon at 2 o clock a public sale will offer two highly desirable buildings at Roberts Avenue. Geri Kinzer will conduct the auction, inviting bidders to inspect the properties and place competitive bids.

W M Mearig chaired the Layman's Movement committee addressing Lutheran men in Palmyra. Lenten services continue at Trinity with Friday and Wednesday sessions focusing on the passion and death of Christ. Plans include a prepared program for members and a potential address by Hon. E Augustus Miller of Philadelphia on March 10.
Last Friday afternoon Charles A. Eaby hosted his annual fox chase at Mt Tabor. Jacob R. Groff released a large red fox at four pm and a pack of hounds and about forty horsemen pursued through soft snow for six to eight miles until Natty Burt and Cains dogs netted the fox near Mt Airy. The event drew a large crowd of sportsmen.
Amsterdam school in Earl township held its annual private spelling bee with three classes A B and C. Top prizes went to Eli O Nolt Samuel O Nolt Lizzie E Smucker and John E Smucker in A class Susan B Martin Rebecca Z Huyard Laura E Palm and Annie W Weber in B class Fannie B Smucker Isaac Huyard Annie B Martin and Amos W Weber in C class. Four prize winners have not missed a word this session.
Sunday evening near Graffdale a Jenny Lind wagon from Lancaster struck a post fence when a frightened horse bolted. Driver George Kilhefner was thrown but uninjured. The wagon forepart damaged. Conductor Adam Ranch and Motorman Amos Mull aided the scene and returned the car to service toward Bareville.

New Holland High School schedules a musical and literary program in Hess Hall on Saturday evening March 11. The event begins at 7 45 with dramas recitations and music to raise funds for expanding the school library.
East Petersburg Bay reports the P O A Band filled an engagement at the East Petersburg fair and earned a hit with the patrons.

Noah Palmer is off duty this week with grip. Daniel Baby of New Holland Machine Company has been sick since Tuesday. Frank Eshleman, railroad fireman badly injured in Philadelphia, moved from hospital to home and is improving but still bedfast.
On Tuesday Mrs. Ira B. Groff received eighty packages of small gifts including handkerchiefs stockings aprons perfumes postcards and more in honor of her twenty second birthday. She thanks friends through these columns for the thoughtful remembrance.
Amos H. Hershey conducted one of the region’s largest sales on Wednesday with about 2000 onlookers. The sale exceeded $8,000 excluding fat cattle. A. H. Brackbill acted as auctioneer with Brubaker and Munselman as clerks.
The Cedar Grove school presents an evening program featuring music recitations and dialogs conducted by teacher Margaret Lied on Thursday March 28 at 7 30. A small admission fee will be charged to support the school library.
