Pastoral Association Holds Monthly Meeting in Lancaster
The Lancaster Pastoral Association met at Trinity Church parsonage on Monday. Rev Mayser discussed predestination and ministers offered echoes of Synod. A three member committee was formed to plan five months of year programs beginning in September. Barn Fire Destroys Hoover Barn Near Hahnstown
Neighbors spotted a fire at the large John O Hoover barn near Grumbine Church about 9 am. The blaze on the second floor destroyed farming implements five tons of cotton hulls hay straw and feed and harness along with a pig sty. Hoover had no insurance and plans to rebuild soon.

Wolf Breaks Free From Palmer’s Butcher Shop

Among the sick Jacob Kauffman of the machine works suffered appendicitis and returned home to Bainbridge to recuperate. Mrs Daniel Overly of Green Bank had a paralytic stroke with little hope of recovery. Jacob R Rutter of Intercourse was taken to General Hospital in Lancaster for stomach trouble and showed little improvement. Lizzie Thomas, colored, residing at Narvon and living in Downingtown, suffered a prior stroke but is improving.
