More than 835 persons watched the New Holland Lions defeat the Ephrata Lions Club in a burro ball game on Storb Feld Tuesday night. District officials praised Lancaster county clubs York, Marietta, and New Holland for attendance. The event featured players riding burros and diverging from the rules as Dan Hoover and others attempted to ride, then lie down for the remainder of the game.

Scaffold Collapse Injures Three Near Diamond Station
At about 4 p m yesterday two workers for John W Gehr contractor of Hinkletown were on a Hoover farm barn near Diamond Station when a scaffold broke throwing them to the ground. Ezra Burkholder and Charles Hertzog of near Ephrata were injured as was a young son of the farmer. Burkholder is the most seriously hurt.

Frankhouser Fractures After Pole Fall at Fetterville
James Frankhouser fell 35 feet from a telephone pole at Fetterville on June 1 and was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for observation. X rays revealed three fractures two in the back and one in the chest. Doctors say the injuries are painful but not serious.
